Ministry sees 5,000 Russians evacuated from abroad in few days

MOSCOW, Apr 13 (PRIME) -- Around 5,000 Russians are expected to be evacuated from abroad over the next few days, the Digital Development, Communications, and Mass Media Ministry said on Monday in its Telegram channel created to assist citizens in returning home.

“The Digital Development, Communications, and Mass Media Ministry together with colleagues from other departments is doing everything so that Russian citizens can return to their homeland. Plans for the coming days encompass ensuring that about 5,000 Russians return home in the following directions: Amsterdam–Moscow, Denpasar–Moscow, Madrid–St. Petersburg, Podgorica–Moscow, Antalya–Moscow, Istanbul–Moscow, Goa–Moscow, New York–Moscow, Rome–Moscow,” the statement said.

The ministry said that as of April 12 five flights have been made successfully and citizens of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk, and Vladivostok returned home.

A flight from Denpasar to Moscow will be made on Thursday at 8:10 p.m. local time, the ministry said.

A flight from Tel Aviv to Moscow will be made at 2:35 p.m. local time on April 20.

Aeroflot is expected to bring Russian tourists from Antalya to Moscow on Tuesday.

The New York–Moscow evacuation flight is scheduled for Tuesday, the Bangkok–Novosibirsk flight will also take place on Tuesday, and the Bangkok–Irkutsk flight will be made on Wednesday.

Amsterdam–Moscow and Istanbul–Moscow flights will be made on Thursday.
